  • National reserve obligations will also follow the requirements applicable to Qatari citizens.

Qatar National Service 2026: What This Means

The new regulations represent one of the most significant expansions of Qatar’s national service framework in recent years.

For the first time, residents born in Qatar and children of Qatari mothers have a structured route to serve within the national service system, receive financial incentives, potentially qualify for permanent residency, and compete for future opportunities within the Armed Forces.

The decision reflects Qatar’s broader efforts to strengthen national participation, develop skilled personnel, and provide new opportunities for long-term residents who have strong ties to the country.
