EGAS sign agreement

QatarEnergy and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) have signed an agreement to supply up to 24 LNG cargoes to Egypt during the summer of 2026, strengthening energy cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between QatarEnergy and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, aimed at expanding collaboration in the energy sector, with a key focus on LNG supply from Qatar to Egypt.

The MoU also opens the door for long-term LNG deliveries, reinforcing Qatarโ€™s role as a reliable energy partner for Egypt during periods of peak demand.

Agreement Signed in Doha

The signing ceremony was held at QatarEnergyโ€™s headquarters in Doha and was attended by:

  • Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy
  • Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Al-Kaabi said the agreement builds on recent successful cooperation between Qatar and Egypt, particularly in LNG supply, and reflects both countriesโ€™ commitment to deepening strategic energy ties.

The deal further highlights QatarEnergyโ€™s expanding LNG portfolio and its growing role in supporting regional energy security.
