Qatar Signs UN Deal to Send 1.3 Million Litres of Fuel to Gaza

Qatar has signed an agreement with the United Nations to provide approximately 1.3 million litres of fuel to Gaza, with the grant aimed at supporting essential humanitarian operations and health services. The announcement was made by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 17, 2026.

The new Qatar Gaza fuel aid comes as part of Qatar’s continued humanitarian support, with around 30 million litres of fuel already provided to Gaza between October 7, 2023 and the end of March 2026.

Qatar Gaza Fuel Aid: What the 1.3 Million Litres Will Support

According to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the fuel grant is intended to help maintain:

  • Hospitals and health centres
  • Essential health services
  • Humanitarian operations
  • Other vital services that depend on fuel
  • The work of humanitarian organisations operating in Gaza

The ministry said approximately 2.1 million Palestinians benefit from health services in Gaza that require fuel, including children, women, older people and people with disabilities.

Qatar Has Provided Around 30 Million Litres of Fuel to Gaza

The latest 1.3 million litre fuel grant adds to Qatar’s previous fuel assistance to the Gaza Strip.

Qatar says it provided approximately 30 million litres of fuel from October 7, 2023 through the end of March 2026 as part of its humanitarian response.

The new agreement with the UN is aimed at helping sustain critical services and strengthen humanitarian operations amid ongoing needs in Gaza.

Qatar and UN Gaza Fuel Agreement

The agreement was signed between Qatar and the United Nations, with the fuel being provided as a grant from Qatar.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the support is part of Qatar’s continuing humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza and efforts to address basic needs and support humanitarian response efforts.
