What Did Qatar Say About Iran?

Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Director of the Media and Communication Department at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said lasting regional stability requires practical steps, mutual respect and continued dialogue.

Qatar called on Iran to stop threatening countries in the region and ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for international shipping.

Qatar Continues US-Iran Mediation

According to the ministry, diplomatic messages and proposals are still being exchanged between Washington and Tehran through Qatar’s mediation channel, with support from regional and international partners.

A Qatari delegation’s visit to Tehran was part of ongoing consultations aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further escalation. Qatar said negotiations remain essential to reaching a lasting agreement.

Qatar Calls for a New Regional Security Framework

Qatar and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have expressed readiness to work towards a regional security framework based on sovereignty, mutual non-aggression and regional stability.

The ministry also said Qatar’s investment in defence capabilities is intended to protect national sovereignty and strengthen deterrence.
