Collating insights from the Doha Festival City 2025 Consumer Survey, conducted both online with 2,010 responses and on-ground with 129 responses, the report reflects a diverse shopper base. Participants shared their shopping priorities, revealing how malls are increasingly social, cultural, and community-focused spaces.

The study revealed that Millennials and Gen Z are a significant part of the shopper base, drawn to streetwear, beauty, modest fashion, and jewellery. Beauty and fashion remain top priorities. Ipsos data, based on hundreds of recipients, shows 40% of Gen Z females prioritize makeup, 25% fragrance, and 20% skincare. Fashion trends include modest-meets-contemporary for 22% of Gen Z females, streetwear for 34% of shoppers, premium perfumery for 32%, and modest fashion for 28%. Among male shoppers, 32% prioritize high-end fragrances. Monthly fashion and beauty spend ranges from QAR 500–2,500 for the majority, reflecting a commitment to style as a lifestyle choice. Ambience, personalization, and events outweigh convenience for half of shoppers, emphasizing the experiential dimension of Doha Festival City.

The report also highlights the future of retail in Qatar, including tech-driven innovations. AI in GCC retail is projected to grow from $5 billion in 2023 to $31 billion by 2028, with 97% of retailers increasing investment. This underscores how malls like Doha Festival City are evolving into cultural, social, yet digitally experiential destinations that combine global insights with local relevance.

Doha Tattoo Festival Announced as Ticket Sales Officially Open

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), the first edition of the Doha International Music and Marching Festival (Doha Tattoo) will be held from 16 to 20 December 2025 at Katara Cultural Village.

A press conference held at Katara Cultural Village unveiled the line-up of participating bands and ticket details, attended by members of the Doha Tattoo organising committee and partner representatives.

The Doha Tattoo will combine precision with musical artistry, showcasing performances by distinguished musical bands from seven countries: the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Turkia, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, Kazakhstan, and the State of Qatar. 

The participating line-up includes the Irish Guards and the Royal Air Force Music Services from the United Kingdom, the United States Air Force Honor Guard, the Ottoman Mehter Band from Turkey, the Jordanian Armed Forces Band, the Royal Guard of Oman Band, and the Central Military Band of the Kazakh Ministry of Defence. The festival will also feature notable Qatari participation from musical units representing the Ministries of Defence and Interior, the Amiri Guard, the Ministry of Culture and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.

Maj. Gen. Dr. Abdullah Bin Yousif Al Maal Legal Advisor to H.E. the Minister of Interior, General Supervisor of the Police Academy and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, stated:

“Hosting this event for the first time in the region highlights Qatar’s role as a hub for cultural and artistic exchange, where music and discipline come together in a refined expression that reflects our national values and openness to the world. In this context, Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee, stated:

“Over the course of five days, audiences will enjoy a series of spectacular performances that blend military artistry with international music, featuring renowned international bands alongside national ensembles from the Ministries of Defence and Interior, Amiri Guard and Lekhwiya. This Qatari edition has its own identity, combining international showcases with authentic Qatari heritage performances, including the Ardha, in addition to fireworks and drone shows that will illuminate Doha’s sky every evening.”
