As part of its ongoing efforts to regulate the tutoring sector and enhance the quality of educational services provided to students, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced the issuance of the first official identification card for licensed tutoring teachers, as part of a package of regulatory measures aimed at controlling this activity and protecting the rights of students and parents.
وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي تُصدر أول بطاقة تعريفية رسمية لمعلمي دروس التقوية المرخصين
— وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي (@Qatar_Edu) January 7, 2026
The ministry explained that the identification card is an official document proving that the teacher has obtained the approved license, and it is used as an approved means of identification when providing tutoring lessons, whether inside licensed educational centers or in homes, which contributes to consolidating systematic practices and enhancing transparency in this supporting educational sector .
The issuance of the card comes in fulfillment of several organizational and educational objectives, most notably ensuring dealings with licensed teachers who meet the approved professional and academic requirements, enhancing the confidence of parents and students in tutoring services, reducing irregular practices and random lessons offered outside the legal framework, in addition to enabling regulatory bodies to quickly verify the legal status of tutoring teachers .
The implementation of the identification card system is expected to contribute to a qualitative shift in the organization of tutoring, by controlling procedures and limiting their provision to the licensed and approved framework, raising the level of professional and ethical commitment among teachers, in addition to reducing complaints related to unqualified or unlicensed teachers .
The ministry confirmed that dealing with tutoring teachers will be limited to those who have obtained the license and the approved identification card, noting that this step comes within its continuous direction to enhance the quality of education, protect beneficiaries, and regulate educational support activities according to clear legal frameworks .
In this context, Professor Iman Ali Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Educational Services Centers Department, stated :
“ The issuance of the identification card for licensing teachers of tutoring centers comes as a complement to previous stages that were carried out through verifying the academic qualifications, experiences, personal residency and work contracts of the teachers, in order to ensure that they work in tutoring centers correctly, and conducting personal interviews for the teachers, where a number of (272) teachers were interviewed and only (182) teachers from various specializations were granted, and a one-month grace period was given to each center to correct the situation of the rest of the teachers in order to grant them a teacher license in the center, in order to ensure the quality of educational services provided to students and to gain the trust of parents when dealing with the teachers of tutoring centers .”
This measure reflects the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s commitment to developing the support education system and aligning it with the highest standards of quality and governance, in order to support the achievement of the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 in building a knowledge-based society, enhancing human capital, and ensuring high-quality education that meets the aspirations of students and parents and contributes to the sustainable development of the country
