Two sustainability leaders from Qatar have been recognised in the Top 100 Middle East “Energy Addition” Sustainability Voices 2026, highlighting Qatar’s growing influence in climate action and the regional energy transition.
The honourees are Neeshad Shafi, Climate Policy Expert and Manager – Engagement at Offsets Capital, and Dr Aisha Al Rumaihi, Senior HSE Monitoring and Reporting Analyst at QatarEnergy.
Shafi said the recognition reflects Qatar’s increasing commitment to climate sustainability, noting that the country is actively advancing climate action and energy transition efforts. A co-founder of the Arab Youth Climate Movement Qatar, he added that his upcoming “Climate Financing” initiative aims to strengthen Qatar’s role within the regional sustainability ecosystem.
Dr Al Rumaihi described the recognition as both an honour and a responsibility, saying it motivates her to further promote sustainability initiatives. She shared plans to engage youth through social media, stressing that meaningful climate action depends on empowering the next generation.
The list was compiled by Gulf Intelligence, based on nominations from the 2025 Top 100 Sustainability Voices. The special “Energy Addition” edition highlights policymakers, innovators, and industry leaders driving decarbonisation while meeting rising energy demand across the Middle East.
