Qatar will officially stop extending expired and expiring entry visas from Sunday, June 7, 2026, according to a new announcement issued by the Ministry of Interior (MOI Qatar) on June 3, 2026.
In a major Qatar visa update for residents, visitors, and travelers, authorities confirmed the termination of the temporary decision that allowed the extension of all types of entry visas nearing expiration or already expired. From June 7, 2026, visa processing will return to the country’s approved procedures, including standard validity periods, renewal requirements, and applicable fees.
The Ministry clarified that all individuals holding entry visas must comply with the official regulations by renewing visas within the permitted period, paying required fees, or leaving the country before visa validity expires to avoid penalties or legal violations related to overstaying.
The latest Qatar immigration update affects all categories of entry visas and is expected to impact visitors, expatriates, and residents handling visa status changes across the country.
According to the Ministry of Interior statement:
“Starting from Sunday, June 7, 2026, work will resume according to approved procedures and guidelines for all types of entry visas, including specified validity periods and fees for each type.”
Authorities have urged residents and visitors to verify their legal status immediately and ensure compliance with Qatar’s immigration regulations.
