Minecraft Experience Lands in Doha This Summer: Everything You Need to Know

Share

If you grew up mining, crafting, and dodging creepers, this one is for you. Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is officially making its way to Qatar this summer, and it’s the first time the global tour is stopping in the country.

The experience opens on 28 July and runs through 27 August 2026 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), presented by Qatar Calendar as part of the Hala Summer line-up.

What is Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue?

Think of it less as a game and more as walking inside one. It’s an interactive, story-based attraction where you and your group step into a real-world version of Minecraft and go on a quest to save a village in trouble.

You’re handed a glowing cube called an Orb of Interaction. It lights up, vibrates, and changes colour as you move through the world, letting you mine blocks, fight off mobs, gather resources, and build your way out of an escape room. You’ll explore biomes, dodge zombies, leap across gaps, and work as a team to bring the villagers home.

The whole thing takes about 55 minutes from start to finish. Groups of up to 25 people go through together, so it works whether you’re rolling in with a big squad or just a couple of friends.

Who is it for?

Pretty much anyone. The experience is designed for ages 7 and up to fully participate, but it’s safe for younger kids too. There’s no graphic violence, no jump scares, just a few moments that might feel a little dark or spooky, similar to the actual game.

You don’t need to have played Minecraft to enjoy it. If you have, you’ll catch all the references. If you haven’t, it still holds up as a fun group adventure.

Anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Kids two and under enter free.

What to wear

Comfortable clothes and shoes you can walk and stand in for an hour. If you have any Minecraft gear lying around, this is the moment to bring it out.

Why this matters for Doha

Qatar has been steadily building its calendar of family-friendly, world-class experiences, and pulling in a property like Minecraft is a real signal of where things are heading. The franchise has done sold-out runs in Dallas, London, Toronto, Riyadh, Copenhagen, and Chicago, and Doha is now on that list.

If you have kids who play, this is going to be a hot ticket. If you’re a millennial who once stayed up too late building a stone castle, you already know you’re going.

We’ll update this piece as soon as ticket pricing and on-sale dates are announced.
