Minister of Education announces the implementation of electronic fingerprinting for school students next September

During her speech at the Qatar Scientific Excellence Award ceremony, Her Excellency Ms. Lolwa bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, revealed that the electronic fingerprint system will be rolled out, God willing, by next September in all schools in the country, enabling parents and the ministry to monitor student attendance, enhance their safety and security, and expedite their arrival.

Her Excellency said:

“As part of addressing operational challenges, the ‘Attendance’ project was developed, in partnership with Mowasalat (Karwa), which is a system of technological solutions to improve the monitoring of student attendance on buses and in schools.”

Her Excellency added: The system is currently being implemented experimentally in 6 schools, in preparation – God willing – for its expansion. The electronic fingerprint system will also be generalized – God willing – by next September in all schools in the country, enabling parents and the Ministry to monitor student attendance and enhance their security, safety and speed of arrival.
